You might have seen I posted a note on the board about upping the performance on my wifes savage.
One mod that can be done apparently (I've spoken to a guy that's done it) is to change from belt to chain and sprockets. The Suzuki RGV sprockets fit the engine but a spacer will be needed.
It is obviously a shame to lose the belt but by using chain & sprockets it will be much easier to change the final ratio as sprockets are available in most sizes!
We were going to do the change for this year but monies run out so it's a next winter job now!
The head on our savage has been ported and flowed and it's certaimly improved the mid range performance. I'm looking at a reprofiled cam as well, using a DR650 one possibly!!
